Thank you for the high praise, that means a lot. I simply love anim8or and have a hard time using anything else.

Can't usually watch much videos online but was pleased i checked out this one.
You've obviously been busy, and it's looking awesome. Don't think i've seen that many characters walking at one time in an Anim8or clip. Adds a sort of a 'fullness (?)' to it.

Yip, i understand that, and feel the same way.
Post production in an editing software is, of course, a must if you're adding sound, and also real handy for other polishing and extra effects.
I've found 'Particle illusion' is good for explosions, lasers etc. Render the effect in particle illusion with a pure green background and chromokey it in you're editing software. (if it has chromokey ?)
Good job BH

I'm using VSDC Pro for video editing. I'm looking into Particle Illusion, but my funds...not so great. Anyone know of an open source particle effect program for Windows?

And thank you so much for your comment. With the whole Coronavirus thing going on, I need a project like this to keep me from going crazy.

The animations I'm doing is part of a writing project I'm working on. I'm hoping to make it more of a collaborative effort. It's not just writing, as there are many ways to tell a story. I'm trying to do it through writing, video and other art forms.

Hey, if anyone is interested, let me know.

Can't say i've tried it, but might be worth a look.
https://effekseer.github.io/en/

I see it exports as .avi

VSDC doesn't seem to have chromokey (?), but could possibly mix effects into video with other compositing tools (?), maybe....?

Hope i'm not steering you up the wrong path.
I was lucky enough to get a copy of an early PI from a cousin in Canada, who knows i only use it for playing around with, and nothing commercial.
I think i would save to buy the latest version though, if i was serious enough, coz it does look like it would cover all the effects i would ever need.
Good luck if you try 'Effekseer' tho. Would be interesting to see if you have any joy with it, and if it turns out to be at all helpful.

Vsdc has chroma key. I use it all the time.

I was looking into effekseer, it looks promising.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Had to render three separate videos for this. Chroma key is your friend.

Ahhhh. Excellent.
Chromokey is definately an excellent friend, i use it A LOT
Glad Effeckseer looks promising. If that laser was made with it, then it seems to definately have potential.
 Good job.  :)

Actually, it's just Photoshop. I then rendered the room, the figure and the laser separately.
