Forum related question
« on: August 25, 2010, 11:56:11 am »

I noticed that for some reason I can only have a 1 character signature.  to have a full signature, is it based on rank, or account age?  I've risen to full member and it still won't work, what do I have to do?

You can only have one signature because steve decided not the allow signatures anymore. Signatures where commonly used by spammers to post links to commercial websites. Only some of the older members where allowed to keep there signature.

this would be a helpful suggestion though (if Steve ever reads this) try allowing signatures after the account is however many days/months old.  most people with the intention of spamming will be caught by then, and won't likely wait however long just to spam the forum.

Did anyone notice that a spambot showed up in this topic right after Floyd said that they use commercial things in their signatures? :P
And notice the 1 character in his sig is a "[" obviously starting a url attempt, so... Yeah.

I wonder why I didn't get to keep my old signature, I had a nice quote of my own in there.. ^^

Yeah, I also noticed when I tried to put my name in the signature box it can be posted. Only 1 char can be written there? Is there any problem of that signature box?

Well, the newest one is right above your post with the signature. :P

Yeah, they can block IPs, although I'm not sure that many moderators get on here every DAY, so it may be a while before they're gone. ;)

Anyway, enough off-topicness, I guess.

NOO! sorry... lol. anyway, maybe it would help to have more of the "type the letters you see here" things.  those are supposed to stop bots.
