Another question =P
« on: March 14, 2010, 11:12:47 pm »

I know this question's been asked a million times already, but I really need some help.

What I'm wondering is, what programs would be ideal to make games with Anim8or models? I know Cre8or, and others, but most of them won't suit my purpose, or won't work on my computer. But suggest anything, no matter what the requirements, or size.  ;) It doesn't have to be Anim8or compatible.

So, anyway, I really want to make games, it'd be very fun for me. I'm looking for some programs that require none to mediocre programming experience.  I know there are some out there. The type of game I'm wanting to make is a space game/shooter. Like the series Star Fox. Also, I may want to make a FPS/First Person Adventure game like the series Metroid Prime.

I realize I may need to grow up and learn to program to get the desired results, but I don't care how stupid or amateur the program may be, I just want to do it without having to learn C/C++ or something.  I've exhausted google IMO, and still haven't found anything useful. But feel free to suggest anything!
Any questions, just ask. =]
Thanks in advance!

www.3drad.com
It's free, but since it became free the forum became full of the "Make my game for me" and "check out my super awesome game" noobs. Extreamly easy to use.

Also, Unity3D became free recently.

And i hate to mention this in the ANim8or forum, but Blender. It's really not that intimidating when you get used to it.

Yes, I did. The conclusion we came to was the video card. I would like to use Cre8or, though, since it's built for Anim8or. Would save me loads of time rigging and animating in another program when I could just do it in Anim8or!

Hmm, I think I remember reading one of your post. Anyways, if you are going into 3d programing it is best to have a good graphics card that is compatable with all (or least lots) as well as having good amount of Vram and render speeds.

Ya, been there, I hated my old graphics card, I mean it was fine being it was used with a pentium 3 (LOL), but still only 128mb, just doesnt cut it. Thats why I found this really nice local computer store (which went out of buisiness in my city  >:( :'( ) I built my new computer with a 2.6 quadcore (at 12mb cache  :o ) and a 1gig Vram. But it cooooosssst soooo much  :'( I ended up saving up my money for a whole half a year from my job! Yet I still managed to spend over 4000$ on my computer (Thats including assecories).
Good luck on trying to get a good system (computer) working  ;D

P.S. Keyboard alone cost me 130$  :D

You wouldn't want to know my specs. =P

There's a nice local, cheap computer shop here, also. I'll definitely buy from them when I get the money for a new one. =]
