is there something wrong with the forums because all of the avatar pictures are all blank.

They're not all blank, only those that were uploaded to the Anim8or site.  It seems to be a problem with recent changes to the site, because you can't upload images to post, either.  You can, however, reference an image on another site, like your own website, or ImageShack or some other free hosting site.
