If you get Terranim8or v6.6.1, that will create rain for you and insert it into your Anim8or project.

Definately Terranim8or.

Look in the Movies section on anim8or.com and check the crazy trousers video

Youtube is down so I cant send a link, but it is on there too.. very good video to see the rain in action and also good for learning about how to do more complex things (the flying paper is really good, gives it a nice feel of physics- as with the bollard)

Terranim8or v7 does not make rain. Only v6 has that feature.

T v.7 also has rain you only need the plugin for it which can be found at the terranim8or site.

Thanks, floyd86, of course, but before that, someone should write that plugin! Would you have a try at it? :)

try doing the low poly way by:
1. make a cylinder and rotate it 90 degrees in the Z axis(right mouse button)
2. apply your rain texture and click the UV button
3. make the texture look as small as you can
4. in scene mode put the cylinder into the very back and scale it till it covers the background
5. during animation rotate the cylinder throughout to make the drops "recycle"
ps  i have not tried this but in theory it should work anyone let me know how it works for them

that sounds really logical and awsome! but what if you want it to envelope around the character? let me reword that...just have it fall both in front and behind? your way sounds the most awsome and simply done but.......yeah...knox'skorner rules

well. if you had a good editing programme you could add it in afterwards, or you could make lots of raindrops, taper a cylinder and tilt it sideways, then just add loads into your scene, but this would be very taxing on your render times

...just have it fall both in front and behind? ........
Then you will need terramin8or.
Attached is a log fire made with the same program. It's really life like when animated, it takes a long time to render but it's worth it.
