Fan film help
« on: February 16, 2008, 09:59:53 am »

Hi there everyone.

Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong section of the forum but I need some help.

After watching a fan film of star trek on youtube called borg invasion.

youtube.com/watch?v=NdHaW7XzJFU[/youtube]]http://www.
- The youtube film.

This has inspired me to create an adapted version of this story. I am trying to get permisson from the guys who created this fan film to adapted their idea into a longer film.

If there is anyone here who is interested it would be great. I am better at directing than the modeling aspect so need the help of people to create models and animate them. I am as I said in the process of getting permission and writting a script. If you are interested post here and I will send you a plot.

Thanks for reading and I hope to hear from you soon.

Hey
No offence but I don't think this will work.  You don't have any idea how long that took to make.  It says it took him a month to get the explosion right.  Plus it looked like he used a lot of other programs for visual effects and sound effects.
I know that the anim8or movie project has been working on the first scene (out of like 10-20 scenes) for 1 to 2 years now.  There still not done.
If you get some other members I will help out.
Want me to make you a forum for this?

Yeah please. If you make a forum for this and see if anyone else will or want to help that would be great. I know that it will take a long time but I feel that it will be worth it. Thanks for replying.

I will try to get people on board as well. I will email the guy who made 'Borg Invasion, to see if he wants to be part of it to.

Thanks again

ok cool, persistence is the first step to... completence? i dunno, anyway, keep trying, if you don't feel like doing it any more, i'm sure there won't be many complaints since there aren't many official members yet

I am persisting with contacting the guy. I have sent him an email this time rather than posting in his forum. Hopefully he should get back tome soon. I am planning the script still and hopefully it will still go ahead. I would love to see this become a reality but I understand what you are saying.

Will keep you posted with more info when there are any developments

Still no word from the guy who created Borg Invasion, but have been in contact with some fans of star trek that have created some spin off fan episodes to see if they assist with the production. I will also contact their production partners to see if they want to be involved in anyway.

As I hear stuff back from them I will post it here.

How is the forum coming along for our fan film Frankie. Post any information here.

Thanks

Yeah thats cool. Thanks for the interest. I have been in contact with the guys at hidden frontier. (www.hiddenfrontier.com) They are willing to be involved but are in a big project at the moment so will not be until about mid 2009 that we start. I will keep you all updated via this forum or I will get your email addresses from here and email you with updates if thats okay.

Secondly could anyone animate me some smoke. It needs to start in the bottom left hand side of the screen and rise to right in a diagonal way. If you could render the movie with a blue background and with a frame size of 1024pixels wide and 576 pixels high that would be great. Email it to me if you can that would be great. Its an idea for the film that I want to try out. Email address is goldlinepictures@hotmail.com. Its my group behind the fan film.

Many thanks and looking forward to working with you.

alright, well its been at least 120 days since anyone has posted here, and I'm new to the scene anyway. Yeah, I'll put my skills in. I'm still really new to animator, I have only one project under my belt and it was pretty simple, just some practice with animation and camera fly-bys. I need to get some experience with creating effects, and I figure i'll learn a good bit working with more experienced users on this project. my e-mail is aetherotoland@yahoo.com if anyone wants to contact me.
