If you are also interested in "amateur" movies, then great battle scene was animated by the Finnish guys in the film Star Wreck - In the Pirkinning - you can download the whole film here (its freeware):

T'was really, really easy, because it was just a CGI rehash of the same stuff that has been made for decades with models.  Nothing new there, unfortunately.
