ok....

You really have to give more information then that if you want to find people willing to help you.
What kind of project? How many people you need? And what do they have to do?

The more information you give, the more likely you find people willing to help.
Only saying you need help is not enough to convince someone to help you, without knowing any details.
Maybe you have a website or a plan?

Ah yes well im not sure how long it would take for an animator. basically i would like someone to animate something similar in mould of pro evoultion soccer the video game if any of u guys have played it, thats in relation to the character models. basically to create short studio clips and clips of managers in a 3d form using 3d modelling to get it looking roughly similar.

Basically to create virtual characters for very very short videos and stuff and perhaps a virtual football studio

i can display any pics if required

would anyone be willing to take up the challenge

I'm going to need a bit more information, you said you wanted animators, but you also mentioned creating characters and perhaps a studio, are you sure you know what your doing, perhaps you should re-think your project plan and then ask us what you need.
Also, have you done anything for this project, such as creating you own models and animations, or do you expect us to do all the work?

I don't want to sound rude, but even after floyds post, you haven't given as much information as needed.
BTW: Please don't double-post, just edit your older posts, thanks.

No you mis-interpted me lol.  I meant a virtual studio as such nothing to do with an animation studio. Its hard to explain, like the match of the day studio if you have ever watched a sport they go back for "studio" analysis. I did in no way mean an animation studio sorry If you got confused.

Well I am sure im just finding it hard to explain simply for you guys :) but i'll defo try again and try make it a little more simple. As regards next  question ive done a lot but nothing animation wise because I cant, I dont know how to sadly :(. thats why Ive come onto the forum. I see motivation is gunna be hard here :(

no on i understand :)

ok well i basically need the following

1) someone to work for a short period of time on creating a 3d model similar to the picture above

2) the animations are to do with inside a football dressing room, and match of day studio type thingy not an actual animation studio

3) characters need to move there mouths simply, no sound required

4) there needs to be colour to the animations

5) the models should be based on the image i posted above

any clearer?

Hi Chris,
I think what Floyd and Tanzim were asking for is not this kind of information... If I was thinking of joining a project like this, I'd like to know the following:

What is the whole thing about? Ok, we know you need somebody to model and animate a football dressing room... Is it for a game or a movie? Commercial or non-commercial? Does the project have it's own website? How many people are involved? How much work has been already done? (We know you have "done a lot", but that's not quite enough information...)

I hope you get the idea... People need to know that you are serious before they decide to join a project like this (and spend several hours/days/weeks working on it)...

Hey Chris,

I think I know the purpose behind your wanting to make this video clip.  I think, what I can gather from the dressing room snap is that this particular team of footballers has lost a match or something and the team mates are kind of frustrated and/or demoralized and perhaps blaming each other for "this" loss and you want to kind of cheer them up with this video by either making it funny to lighten the mood or making it philosophical to boost their molare.  Good cause.  I may be totally wrong.  It is just my guess.

Chris, actually the thing is let me tell you how the hobby animators work.  They get motivated by some idea, some thought, some incident.  The idea gets sort of pickled in their brain for a while and suddenly they vent their interpretation through their creative skills.  I hope everybody will agree.  In this particular case, chris, you are highly motivated (by some incident that you only know) and desperately want to anyhow make this animation, but unfortunately you cannot expect other animators to so suddenly be part of your excitement and emotions and just start working on it.  Chris, my friend, it does not happen.  I think the best way you can express yourself is doing something you can do best.  If you insist on making this animation, I think the best way out will be to learn animation yourself and then ask others to help you if you get stuck at something.

This is just my wisdom and as I said i may be totally wrong.  No hard feelings buddy.  Lets see what we can do.

I agree entirely with Indian8or, on the subject of motivation.  The problem is that we are not professionals, and have very limited time to do what we all enjoy - animating.  We all have our own projects under way or in mind, sometimes long term projects that will take months or even years to complete.  The best way you can get some animators to put their projects on hold or push them back would be to get them as excited about your idea as you are.

How to do that, you ask?  With information.  You need to provide the following:

1) A design brief, including what the animation is for, who the intended audience is, when it should be completed by, what kind of message it is trying to convey.

2) A complete storyboard.  It doesn't have to be artistically brilliant but it must define the full extent of the final edited animation, with each scene defined and described in as much detail as you can.  The storyboard must also provide information on how long each scene is to run for.

3) A breakdown of the scenes, with running lengths for each, including what models will need to be built and how they should look.  Include ALL models, no matter how minor, because unlike filming we can't just populate a scene with pre-made props.

4) As many images, drawings or videos as you can find that help to define what it is you are after.  I would also strongly recommend that you learn the very basics of animating with Anim8or, and use this knowledge to create a very simple "pre-visualisation" animation, using basic rectangles and spheres in place of characters and without complex modelling and materials.  Seeing the basic concept might make us feel like we would like to help you improve it.

I understand that you might be nervous about revealing your ideas, but there is really no benefit in keeping secrets.  The amount of time it takes to create even a few seconds of animation means that the animator must have a strong incentive to keep working, and since we are not professionals the only real incentive is a personal "ownership" of the project.  You need to sell this idea to us, or interest will remain low.

I'm willing to help. But I'm terrible at animating... Sadly. I'm learning though! I'll try to do a few of the models and someone else may want to do the animating!

Also, I sort of understand Chris's ideas. :)
