Well I've rigged the le0pard (still can't spell it) added a few crows, redone the transmaps for the whiskers, adjusted the lighting, fiddled with the fingers, adjusted the postion of the main figures to be diagonal, added a few more lights. I wanted more grass but my comp keeps crashing,,, heh.

All the uv maps are 2048 by 2048 so I can get in nice and close for further work if nesccesary

Programmes used so far: anim8or for all the models and the basic texturing, uv mapper pro (thanks Raxx), blacksmith 3d paint to paint over the joins that I screwed up, carrara for the renders and the rigging, photoshop for a few adjustments.

I've done two renders and am leaning towards the motion render...

I'd like to adda bit of dust and flying particles I think at the leopard's feet

I guess I'm nearly finished these particular scene... so any c and c would be welcome at this point!

Nice work headwax, i like the evil little evil. The textures are good quality!
The motion blur still needs some work imo, it's to much blur. Try keeping it soft and maybe a slight DOF.
The grass could use some work to: try more and small straws.

Keep it going, this is going to be a nice piece of work.

I like the cat you got there! It reminds me of Oblivion, nice terrian to. I also like the eagle in the background as well. Keep up the good work. :)

Thanks Floyd and Spicy for commenting.

Floyd: I agree with the motion blur being too extreme. I think just a little around the paws of the cat to make it seem like fast motion. At the moment it looks like a bad dream.

Also the dof is a good idea - should concentrate the viewer's attention on the foreground and add a sense of depth.

Spicy: I'll check oblivion. Looks interesting :) A more eagle like eagle is a great idea. Maybe I can fit him into the foreground as well....

I have a vague idea I'll turn this into a pseudo book cover: "Invasion of The Elven Lords" or similar.

anyone think the elve's left arm (on our right) is a bit weird, not straight enough perhaps?

thanks again

edit I can see where I have left a straight edge at top right with messy transmapping  that needs to be removed.

Spicy gave me the idea of including an eagle so I started on him a few days ago...

First image, I identified all the parts of the mesh with different materials to make it easier to unwrap in UV mapper pro (thanks Raxx :) )

He has a ridge down his sternum from extrapolating the head mesh and keeping the lines too close to each other so I'd better fix that ....

The texturing on the toes is a bit rough but maybe I can get away with it, and the join at the neck between the neck feathers and the chest feathers is a bit straight. Eventually I might add a transmap to add more feathering to the tail and wing edges....

Very interesting! And a very freaky gnome/elf :) I think it's coming along nicely though I can't say for sure since your imagination is always so...imaginative. Your avatar must be the face you make while you're thinking these things up ;)

I actually prefer the first render angle you made where the gnomely elf rider and leopard are facing the camera. Perhaps you should raise the arms up a little more as well so that he's sighting down the bow a bit better and it looks more realistic (in a sense...).

Nice eagle headwax! I like the eagle and the texture's fit nicely :)
Feathering would be nice but take your time. Carry on the nice work.

Hey headwax, where do you get the time to model all this, or alternatively, how do you model so fast? It's incredible really.
On your eagle model: on the legs, there's 6 edges connecting to one point, and it's making the shading come out weird (that or the UV Mapping came out wrong), and I would really recommend fixing it :) And keep up the good work.

3D Beast: Mate, perhaps you haven't read the Forum Rules, http://www.anim8or.com/smf/index.php?topic=2086.0, could you keep you posts more relevant next time? Spamming is not tolerated.

Really great texturing on the eagle Headwax and love the cloth textures on your freaky elf.
Very nice work as usual.
