I am new to the forum and fairly new to anim8or.
I have been building daleks of varying types thanks to
www.projectdalek.combut it is only recently that I have gotten into 3d modelling.
I have now reached a breakthrough in the dalek production in that I've worked out how to make the skirt.
Although I have previously made a load of key components using the lathe tool, I even mocked up what a skirt built on the lathe would look like. I will post pictures of the renders later, but basicly I am about to come across some real hurdles and would likt to notify you of the areas now so you have time to quantify a suitable response. I would like to know if there's and how to use an array tool so that I can do the neck struts and things like that preferably it would be something akin to the tool Mick Imrie uses on Cinema4d in the virtual dalek tutorial on project dalek, also I would like similar help with how to align the hemis, and how to rig it for animation as on the aforementioned tutorial, and the lights kinda thing.
I know you have probably heard this all before, but I thought it best I post here now so everybody knows the score. The dalek will be special ops in the sense that the idea for it is that it is so loaded with guns and tools. I will also at some point have to tackle tank tracks, hands, walking and how to make over 100 guns fire at the same time with the rounds travelling at the same rate.
p.s.
I think this forum could do with a welcome section so complete noobs like me can say what they want to say without clogging up the rest of the forum with endless repeats of info.
p.p.s.
If someone does open a noobs or welcoming section. I would be honoured to be the first poster moved there.
