Oooh Aqua Doob seems sad. Clear Doob is ghost of his formal self. Brilliant expressions for what Doob is. He should on the telly.

Thanks for the feed back so suddenly. It makes me happy to see that people are starting to come on to doob. Any way like I said I will be posting more shortly , I have vacation, and I might be able to sneak some Anim8ing time in there!

i have an idea - rather than trying to pick a final colour for doob, why don't you just let him stay as a chameleon-type thing, and have his colours shift depending on what emotion you're trying to express in the scene?  i just thought, since everyone was saying how the blue one looks a lot less happy than the yellow one, why don't you take that and run with it?

I too agree thecolcolugh, What do ya think ncl32? Since he has no mouth he could umm...speak with colours. And he still has thumbs - they can say a lot too; and feet. Colours would make him expressive. And with what little he has he has plenty to give...

Good idea. Make him redhot when he's angry and pink when he's shy. Could make a nice animation. The differcult part is to make him change color smoothly.

Could it be done using morphs?

eg. dragging a lower, differently coloured layer to the surface for each emotion

Would take quite a few layers though...

What a cute little character, very good :-)

Yes, the changing colors for emotional expression would be very nice. But I donīt think this can be done in anim8or, maybe you can use Terranim8or?

actually guys that sounds awesome. I like the idea to do different colors to represent emotion. Sounds awesome. Any way let me get on that.

Here is a quick render of the file. I looks pretty decent but i think it's still needs some perfection.

Thanks for rendering that, you can see there are a few problems (some faces changing before others, growing size), but these could be worked out.

Ok!First off,our little doobie needs eyebrows.Best for expression in my experience.

Of course, there could be different colors for diffrent "dooblets" or even doobie families, so one family could be pink, one blue, one green, etc.

And dooblets can be distinguished by say one having an odd swirl of hair, one with glasses, one with a flower on her head, etc.Eye color changing could replace the original idea for the expression.

And finally, morphs for the eyes.Say swirly for dazed(say after a concussion),heart shaped for in love, exclamation point for shocked, another etc.

It is your project, these are just suggestions.
