2 requested scripts
« on: September 20, 2008, 06:52:12 pm »

I would like a better point snap tool. Would that be posible to write in a script?
And also i would like an md2 mesh export script. Just a suggestion really doesnt even have to be a script.  :)

What exactly do you mean by "a better point snap tool"?

I have trouble snapping points unless i have them litterally on top of each which is kinda problem because a like to to model in the style where you lay each polygon out then you mirror your half and that means i have to work extra hard to line everything up just so that i can take a shortcut and snap a couple of points together.  :)

Ok.... I'm not really sure if I understand...
What should the script do? Move a point to the position of the nearest neighbour and merge them? Or something like "intelligent mirroring" (the script would mirror a mesh and merge the corresponding points automatically)?

Then you can use the "Merge Points" command (hotkey Shift+L).

Simply move the point together or typ in a greater value in the merge point window: default is 0.500, make it 2 or something (depending on the distance of the points). But it's better to move the points closers together and then merge points, especially when working with more points.
