That image outside the window does work very well, appearing moonlit and really, really cold, which makes the room itself that much more inviting! I also use flat photographic images whenever I think I can get away with it, although with animation it can be harder to hide the two-dimensionality than with single renders.
This is really nice work, great use of textures. My feeling is that the fire could illuminate the room a little more, gently spreading a warm glow across the floor and the seat in the corner, but it is a minor thing. The only other thing that I could make a suggestion on is the illuminated side table and light cone around it, which makes me think there should be a lamp on it, from which the light comes. Excellent work though, I like it a lot.
