If your a total beginer to Anim8or (or even CG), I'd suggest learning how to use the program, and to get yourself familiarised to Computer Graphics first, then trying tutorials like those, that way you won't have any probems with technical terms nor will you fnd the tutorials 'hard to get'.
You should start off with beginer tutorials and work your waY up :)

On http://cgtextures.com/ under tutorials you will find a tutorial for making robes. And Mp3d has a tutorial for making a flower: http://www.mp3d.info/Anim8ortutorials/page1.html . But as tanzim said, mastering a CG is the first thing you should do before starting any projects. Just go through the manual and try out the tools and start making simpel things like a house or something.

a rope can be made with 3 cylinders and a twist modifier
