can there be advanced mirroring?
« on: April 13, 2008, 11:22:16 am »

would it be possible to implement advanced mirrorring?  for example, can the "mirror" feature work with a bunch of objects, groups, and meshes at once, instead of just a single mesh, without having to join solids?

i'm sry if this has already been done.  i just checked the preview, and the mirror feature seems the same as before.

It hasn't been done, and I do agree that it would be a very nice thing to implement.

would be even better if the mirror side adjusted to the changes you make in the object in real time, so you can see the result of your actions right away, but this is probably a bit difficult :P

Oh since we're doing suggestions I have another thing on my list (keeps gettin longer for you steve probably) : fresnel reflections. I dont know if thats difficult but since you also have fresnel refractions i tought maybe it wouldnt be too hard to do that.

Continuous mirroring of a mesh is a great idea - suggested by numerous people (including me) and I plan to add it when I next work on the modeler (soon after v0.97 stuff settels down).
