Adding a glow effect

How can I make a part of a 3d model appear as though it is illuminated from within? I want to create a glowing appearance coming from a part of the model.

Try experimenting with the emissive and transparency material settings.

Thanks for the tips. I got it now. I think converting to .cmod format helped too
