Real ENDLESS looping...
« on: May 09, 2012, 05:44:45 pm »

Hey, everyone. A lot of times, I wanna loop a sequence (with the 'loop sequence', obviously). But once it begins, it usually gets stuck in an unstoppable loop in which an error occurs, forcing me to shut the program down. Is there any way to avoid this? I'd hate to have to lose sensitive data.

In Truespace you just hit ESC, does it work the same in Anim8or?

ESC stops it, or press the Stop or Pause button. I also recommend you tick the "Limit Playback" option in the View->Preferences dialog window if you haven't already.

Is it not stopping regardless?

In TS when an animation is set to loop most buttons become deactivated by the loop feature. ESC, seems to be the only control that will end the loop cycle. I remember before I realized this that I thought that TS was just hanging up. Can't really remember how many times I thought CTRL-ALT-DEL was the only solution. PS: Remember to save your model scene frequently too. I've lost a lot of work to software/OS hang ups. Quite frustrating if you ask most model makers. Cheers.

After a couple loops, Anim8or just says '(Not Responding)', and decides to... Not let me do anything. This is prior to me getting a chance to hit ESC. So the screen goes faded-white, the animation is still looping, but the program is unresponsive.

Ok, more than likely it's related to your system. What operating system (Version and 32 or 64 bit?). Have you tried it with your antivirus/antimalware software completely turned off? Have you tried it with compatibility settings turned on or off?

64 bit Windows 7... Windows XP SP2 comp settings. I'll have to try with my antivirus off. On the real, it may not be THAT big of a problem......

Are you running Anim8or in compatibility mode?
