Does A8 always export objects in groups alphabetically?
« on: March 30, 2012, 06:22:00 pm »

I noticed this when naming 2 objects. Naming one parent and the other child. Then I grouped them together and exported that. The child object always displayed first. Then as a test I renamed parent to aparent and the other to bchild and A8 changed the order in the resulting file output to display the parent object first like I wanted it to be exported. Is this behavior by design? Thanks.

It might order the objects, alphabetically? Although I'm not 100% sure about that.

Anim8or, is a strange beast. Been trying to figure out how to export objects in groups, but haven't had much luck except to get them to print out one after the other. For the most part this isn't much of an issue except where hiearchal file structure is required. I hope that this issue is addressed at some point in the future. I may have to stick with Truespace for now; although, it has served me well for years now. I really like Anim8or and plan to keep using it for non BZII purposes. It really is a quite user friendly modeling software and from what I've seen so far people are able to create some truly awesome 3D artwork.
