Avast ye, the bevel tool be no functionin' te way it should be!

Is there anyway to actually get a 45 (or thereabouts) degree bevel angle?

Not that I'm aware of, ya landlubber. I guess u could cut the edge and fill the hole, but it would still be round if it were a Subdivision...

Maybe if the distance from the corner you are beveling to the first line on the one side is the same as on the other side it will give 45 degrees. Of course this is not always practical, especially for more difficult bevels.

I usually export to a different program for a minute to do the beveling and then come back ;)
