A File Request
« on: December 09, 2009, 10:22:33 am »

Hi,
I am a 3D modeler and very much interested in game developement. I am making a game using a very friendly Game Engine. Like me, there are many Indie Game Makers to whom Anim8or is becoming their fav one modeling tool. I came to know about anim8or on a game engine forum where the main engine developer was using anim8or to design his models.
So, I post this thread with a request to the developers of anim8or to implement writer and loader of .x files. So that we can export .x files from anim8or to use in our game environment.

  Thanking You

B++, as noted on the 'Resources' page, under the heading 'Other Useful Resources', the MS utility Conv3ds can freely convert .3ds files (which Anim8or can currently export to) to .x format - the app is included in the MSSDK (mssdk/bin/DXUtils/XFiles). If you don't have the SDK, you can get it from Microsoft. Alternatively, you can just dl the app here: http://www.hangsim.com/vs/download.php. The app is buried in the .zip file, located in the 'boat_sample' directory.

Check out the 4th post in this topic.  You'll see that there are 3 different .x export scripts made by users available.  Perhaps one of them will work for what you want.
