strange texture mapping problem.
« on: December 09, 2009, 08:17:44 am »

Hi guys,
I am quite new to 3D modelling, recently get to know anime8or, and found it is a good tool.
I followed one of the youtube lesson doing the Kirby, very cute round guy.but when I finished the texture, I found out that the face of the kirby has a problem, there is a dark line around it. I dont know why. the texture image looks perfect, but why after mapping there is a dark line there.

Thanks

the dark line in the middle is where the least amount of light is coming off of the world lights, the two bright spots on the sides are where the light is directly in line with the object, getting more direct light than where the object is parralel to the light rays. here is good tutorial on lighting i found posted here on the forum.

As ADSohr said, the dark line on your model there is simply the shading of the model in object mode.  If you want different lighting, go into scene mode and use your own lights and light setup there.
There's nothing wrong with your texture, that's simply shading on the model because of lights.
