i havent realy tackled it just yet but i want to make a figuer breath fire. any sugestions how a guy would go about that?

Try using the terranim8or plugin for fire in combination with your character.  You can change materials for the particles if you want to try to make the fire more realistic.  Play with the settings until you get something that works for you.

well the terrainim8or looks better i think. but i dont think you should make the fire in a straight line. i think it would look 10x more realistic if you gave it a mushroom cloud kinda feel to it. i do like your model though. you did a great job. keep at it i think ull get it.

Yes, try tampering with the settings for terranim8or.  It also appears that you're perhaps using an older version of terranim8or?  The newest version has much more realistic fire effects.  Try dabbling with the shape of the fire in terranim8or and see what different things you can get.  Also, you can make your own transparency maps for the small fire objects to make them look better.
