Splines help?

How do you draw a closed shape with splines?  I can't figure out how to attach one end to the other when I use the straight or curved path tools.  Please help!  Thank you.

After creating an open ended spline, change to the pick tool (arrow) and double click anywhere on the spline.  A dialog box appears, with options to close the spline.
