can i create visual efects ?

hi to everybody im new to this program ,is it possible to create visual efects for video progectors in avi or mpeg ,and how can i learn to do this thing if its possible excuse me if the question is silly for you all. thanx a lot

It depends on the kind of effects you want! Take a look through the galleries here and see if that's the sort of thing you're looking for.

If not, http://www.debugmode.com/wax/ or http://www.theprodukkt.com/werkkzeug1 can do video effects which Anim8or can't yet.
