I want to make a fully indoor enviroment, but no matter how much I zoom in, Anim8tor can't go through the walls. Is it possible to set it so it can, and if so how?

Could you explain a bit more on what you are trying to do ?

Anim8tor can't go through the walls

Neither can we, so whatever you are trying to do in Anim8or, how would you do it in real life ?  :)

I already said "I want to make a fully indoor enviroment". This enviroment is completely closed in, and I want to edit it while inside the model.

i suggest you delete one of the walls, edit the inside, then add the wall back again.

make sure the object is large (compared to the camera in scene mode) and put the camera inside the house.

And if you want realism, try to make sure that your objects are life-sized.

if you want to edit it, instead of deleting a wall, simply select it then press ctrl+h

In perspective view, the camera can "go through walls", but it can take some considerable manipulation of the screen rotation and drag controls to position it within your virtual room.

You can go throught the walls in any view, not only the perspective view, and it's not very difficult:
  • Choose the "viewpoint edit" mode (the eye)
  • Use the "scale" tool and scale everything down until all the objects are very small (but still visible)
  • Use the "move" tool and your right mouse button to move forward in Z-axis. Move until you pass through your object
  • Use the "scale" tool again to make everything bigger, then adjust the viewpoint as you need...

If you didn't use the scale tool, you would have to drag your mouse 50 times to get through the wall... If you first use the scale tool, you will move much faster...

Blaster ---
One thing that nobody has mention is Z-distance.  That has to do with how close you can position the camera to an object without "clipping" the image.  You can access these settings in Scene Mode by clicking Settings > Environment..., then click on Advanced.  The default setting of Z-Near is 50.  The lowest setting for Z-Near is 1, and will allow you to position the camera very close to an object (or wall) before it clips the image.

Blaster, I feel your pain!
I am working on a steel frame building for a friend, and would like to be able to work on details inside the building.  I have had to use the "removeable wall" trick, but have gotten to a point where I am running out of walls I can rebuild easily.  Z clipping and view manipulation are very limiting, and don't really give the full flexibility of a dedicated "Camera" mode.

I also use 3DS Max 9, and like the ability to place and use cameras while editing.  I posted a suggestion on the v0.97 preview forum suggesting a camera view that can move through an object, rather than just orbiting around it.
