Some general questions about modeling/rendering. So, when one object is high poly, Anim8or get slow, especially when using arc rotate tool. I know all this about the poly count, but does it meens that the same result we will have in others programs, like 3dsmax, Maya e.t.c? I meen if we will take the same comlex object which we created in Anim8or and import it in these others programs, it will continue not to respond well? That what I try to figure out is if the response of program depends also of the code, the same program I meen?

And one very general request: to create a topic which will contain tips and techniques about modeling/rendering, somthing like a library, very well edited.( like the topic with the scripts)

It's all about processing power.  The more complex the object, the more processing the CPU must perform.  This is because the CPU must process the information for each polygon surface, to figure out where it is in the overall scheme of things, whether it's visible or not, whether it receives light and/or shadow, whether it's textured or not, and whether that texture includes a bump map (or is animated in the case of other "top-end" programs).  So, yes, other programs will respond to a high-poly model in a fashion similar to Anim8or, though perhaps not identically, because some programs have other "tricks" they can use - like controlling the number of subdivisions an object has based on its distance to the camera.

That's why it's important to make efficient use of polygons.  Relying too much on subdividing an object to make it smooth will just up the poly count and slow down the processor.  I'm sure others can weigh-in on this topic.

Some general questions again. In the scene mode, when rendering a scene, does the renderer "see and check" the whole scene or only what's in the border ( camera ). So, for example, if we have a huge terrain ( very high-poly ), but we are rendering only a small corner of it, the renderer will calculate the rays from all faces or only of those are in the frame?

only what the camera sees.  I know this because when doing the skeleton video, it rendered faster when it got away from the palm trees
