My advice would be to first read the Anim8or manual and play with the tools yourself, find out what they can all do.  Then follow the tutorials on the anim8or.com main site.  Then, use google and search for tutorials on modeling and learn the basics of modeling.  Once you understand how to model yourself, you'll be able to model the ship yourself using techniques you've learned along the way.
