very cool architecture the textures might need  a little more of a consistent feel. although far from finished it looks like it will be amazing. the buildings have some very interesting shapes and there is great attention to detail. keep up the work!

Looks awesome!
Only thing I really notice as being an issue might be that it has a sorta theme park feel to it.
Not quite real, faked, since there's not much grime or homes.
Dunno if you're going for realistic or not. But it looks amazing so far, can't wait to see more.

This is really cool!

I originally discovered anim8or when looking into learnign 3D modeling for creating buidlings to mod the game SimCity 4. I got involved with a couple of groups - simtropolis.com was one. This makes me think so much of the work of some of those folks.

One other group was creating an entire SimCity 4 mod in a Mars environment.

Great work pscheunemann, your city is coming along nicely.
I would just suggest using a backlight so the back of buildings aren't so dark, and turning on shadows for extra realism (unless your leaving that until later).

Reflective water is also recommended but it does kill rendering speeds.

hey, thanks everyone for the helpfull comments!
about shadows, realism, textures, lighting and details...I am going to leave all that for later on in the process, first I just want to get all the buildings settled down on the city plane!

*I'm texturing everything in anim8or's built in UV...maybe I should use uvmapper! I'll also organize the textures later....

*Arik, I love Simcity 4, and I used to spend lots of time on simtropolis XD
