Holes in meshes
« on: April 17, 2009, 03:35:14 pm »

I'm back, this time with another problem related to modelling addon spacecrafts for Orbiter spaceflight simulator.  :)

Currently, I'm making a space station. More specifically, the inside of one, which has been a challenge.

At the moment, I have to cut a circular hole (more accurately, a 24-sided hole  :P) in a square face, of a cube.
Are there any ways of doing this?

One way you could do it is if you haven't already got the wall as part of a larger model, create a 4 sided NGon, then an NGon with 24 sides, and join the splines together after orienting correctly.

Then extrude them through the Z axes, with both ends capped.
Et Voila! a hole.
