problems with material attributes?
« on: October 10, 2008, 02:39:04 pm »

I was rendering this model below when I figured out that the ray art render was not rendering right on my object It seems to be like a mirror or something I can't figure out how to keep my material color while it renders a reflection of the other objects
I don't know if this is a render bug or if I'm just doing something Wong?

the first image is a scanline render the second one is a Ray art render

What attribute are you using and what are your material settings? (all I'll probably need to know is 'rough' and 'specular' values.)

I have changed all of the settings that is available I changed the Kr even nouthing seems to work I have used 200,1000,10000
on the roughness of the material but still it doesn't change anything all it changes is how much quality of the reflection is on the Object so I looked at the sample of the attribute from steve and it don't at all like i said It just changes the quality of the reflection If this is how its meant to be there should be an  amount of how much of that attribute should have like the amount of percentage of that attribute

I used the speculer at 1
My roughness was at 1000,200,10000

specular at 1 is your problem. that is equivelant to a mirror, when using specular reflection. Drop it to about .5 will be helpful though you will have to lower it even lower to retain alot more color. roughness only effects the other type of reflections ( as far as I know )

specular effects how much reflection you have , :)
