Animation was fun when I less cared about perfection
Also used opengl renderer which is equal to real time(fast).
Enjoyed the time.

Wow!  Didn't realize how long it's been since I've been here, until I was cleaning out my, "output" folder and found some old previews.
I'm still modeling, but as usual, life tends to get in the way.  Worked on a lot, since I was here last.  Still working on the, "Dreamboat", but it's taken kind of a back-burner as I research interior details.

I've gotten more involved with XPlane 12 flight simulator and have been building a lot of scenery models for that.

Anyway, I just thought I'd pop by and show some of what I've been working on.  I don't work in Anim8or much, anymore, but still use it, like a scratchpad, for quick preliminary designs, and the bulk of my 3D knowledge started here!

First is an early render of a theoretical design for a modern battleship I've been working on, with MHD propulsion, triple reactors, 4 quad railgun turrets, and all sorts of modern naval goodies for reference, it's about 200 feet longer than the Japanese battleship "Yamato".
Next is a to-scale model of a school classroom I did for a friend so they could figure out how to arrange their new classroom.
If you're a fan of anime, I have the God Phoenix from Science Ninja Team Gatchaman.
Then, we have a model I think I may have posted before; my take on the Ligeti Stratos home-built airplane that I plan to eventually make a flying model for XPlane.
Last but not least is a test shot of the Airchime airhorn I modeled for my yacht, to test material and lighting.  I was able to get detailed design drawings from the manufacturer, so it is 100% correct.

Hi steve. Been a long time.

Blowing dust out of my anim8or PC, and looking through some of my old stuff.
Was reminded of something that i've been meaning to ask about. Poses.
Presently, to save a 'pose', it's a case of saving a short sequence. (I usually save as a 2 frame sequence, with both frames keyed.)
Was thinking, considering that poses can be such a usefull thing when animating a character, that it would be cool if you could save a 'pose'. ?
If there was option like 'save this pose', anim8or could key all the bones and save to a 'pose' folder?
 Or something like that?

(a pose would be saved with all bones keyed. and there would, naturally, then be another option 'Add Pose') (to character in scene) Maybe even available in sequence mode? (maybe)

Hi there olan
Not actually a comment on lighting, but about chauna on couch. I see he must be rigged, for him to be sitting on the couch.
Something i have done for a long time now, with any character, is to make a pose, (2 frame sequence, double keyed), of the hands, with fingers slightley curved.
It makes a huge difference in any image, when the fingers are not so straight.
 Just a thought.
 Otherwise, looking good.   ;)

These designs are now available as T-Shirts and other merch on my TeePublic store!
https://www.teepublic.com/user/sammyjstudios/albums/357313-vaporwave-series

I modified the last two designs to be a bit more dynamic since I hate slapping a square on a T-Shirt, so those two have the originals separately as Prints.

I still plan to make more and upload them as another wave in the future.

I also finished another new artwork!

This one required a bit more editing in post. Obviously the scribble was added after the fact, but you probably noticed ART doesn't render fog. I achieved this by
1. making a HUGE dielectric cube with minimum IOR so the light wouldn't bend, and an appropriate UnitDistance so that at least the color would overtake in the distance.
2. Adding a gradient over the background in post.

If there's any (possible) smarter way to achieve fog with the ART renderer, I'd love to hear it!

CoriDavis how much memory does Anim8or use when you're rendering the scenes?

When I use Multithreaded ART, it uses about 93-95% of the CPU. I attached a snapshot of my monitor during a render.

The image of Jesus with the pillars still had the issue whether or not it was multithreaded. It didn't even matter if it was ART or Scanline. It only goes up to 15% at the most when it's not multithreaded.

Image 1 is Multithreaded, Image 2 is Singlethreaded.
