Hi there cooldude! I'm thrilled to see this project! I was one of the other mods over on cre8or Fatal-Error. I'm not about to read through seven pages of stuff, but I get the gist that there still is no website for this awesome project yet (that and a quick Google search).

I actually am co-owner of a computer repair shop in Cranbrook BC (LTB Computer Solutions), we have a webserver setup there with virtualized user accounts and a bunch of other fun stuff (including email) I'd be happy to donate a few gigs of space on our server to host your site when you get it finalized. I'll chip in a few bucks to get you a domain name too, so you'd have your own .com if you have a few ideas I'll see if they're already taken or not.

I also am quite interested in what language you are programming the new (essentially engine I suppose) in? I presume C++, I'm quite proficient at vb.net, I coded the entire Point of Sale system we use at the store, it's all tied into a database, auto bills and all sorts of fun stuff. I'm not sure how much that would help your project, but if I can help I'll certainly be happy to do so.

Here's the renderfarm I was thinking about... http://superconductor.sourceforge.net/

Freshmeat.net is about the best darn place to find FREE programs (they're free cause they're opensource!!)

I don't know if it's compatable with anim8or or not, and quite frankly, I'm too lazy to download it and try... maybe one day when I get more time to play with anim8or, and my vast network of computers. lol... I just picked up another bodi blue imac (only 233mhz) and a 2.4 ghz Dell, so one day I might try setting up a renderfarm (y'all can buy time from me! jk).

I didn't know that a person could buy their time... but what can I say... I'm cheap! jk

doesn't Gelatto use Nvidia's GPU's for Fixed/Floating point calculations (hence the speed)? I know there's a password cracker I read about that used the GPU of a graphics card and could crack an 8 character Vista password in 2-3 days.... on a high end graphics card. (normal quad core, cpu time would take about 3-5 months)

lol... and as a side note... I could run a renderfarm... I have 4 computers right now, and I'm working on setting up 2 more, but anim8or doesn't need to support renderfarms, there's an opensource program that will work fine for renderfarms, I can't remember the link, but If I come across it again, I'll put it up here... no more work arounds with 8 different anim8or exe's running :P

EDIT: I guess that had little to nothing to do with the Preview... but felt I should mention it for some reason...

Finished Works and Works in Progress / Re: Star Trek TOS Low-Poly Set

Just some constructive criticism...coming from a Star Trek fan... Your loknar class looks pretty good, but the boom section doesn't look like it's in scale with the engineering section... it looks too small in your renders. Very nice 'fat man' (I think that's right, I have a book somewhere) class klingon cruiser! May I say that while the textures for your Federation ships are quite nice, especially where the nacelles are concerned, your klingon textures could use some work... If you see any of the original series where they had a klingon ship, it was actually a smooth, light grey, almost plastic look. The next version had a rusty steel look, and seemed to always look like it was missing some hull plates... Hopefully these comments will help you. Very nice work in any case!

Ok I didn't see this anywhere... doesn't mean no one else noticed this... but I don't see a topic on it. I'm not a new user to anim8or, before anyone jumps the gun on me. lol ANYWAYS, in the 0.97 preview I don't see any of the tool tips when the mouse hovers over the buttons. In the object editor, that's all it says in the lower left corner. In other versions it would change to whatever the function of the buttons are... just thought I'd say something about this.
