How do you turn a web link into a word that is a link

as in http://www.anim8or.com/download/preview/art_raytracer.html to just raytrace for example?

I like the Anim8ion - the tap is well done reflective wise. Would you also consider doing an ART version too.

Major reflections with a little dielectric

That is mind boggling! So is the Anim8ion.

I too agree thecolcolugh, What do ya think ncl32? Since he has no mouth he could umm...speak with colours. And he still has thumbs - they can say a lot too; and feet. Colours would make him expressive. And with what little he has he has plenty to give...

General Anim8or Forum / Re: Transparent Renders...
« on: October 23, 2008, 07:08:48 am »
The only recommendation I can make is to use a transparent plane behind your model perhaps with some kind of texture as in a combination of diffuse and 100% bumpmap (same texture as diffuse). By default Anim8or background, panorama and cubemap can only be textured as they do not support ART Attributes (transparent, glossyreflector and dielectric). Use a plain coloured background, say black (but do experiment with different colours) and use a textured transparent plane behind your model and make it big enough to exceed the Field Of View (FOV) of the camera in Scene Mode.

I hope this is what ya need to know, however in Scene mode be careful how you use lighting as anything transparent can be lit up too, but there is a way to alter the material so it's not so reflective but still noticable.

I'm not too sure if this is what you mean but IF it is then make the transparent plane somewhat(but do experiment) like thus:

Create a plane and rotate it so it is face on. Experiment with colours first as you may not want to texture it. In materials editor set transparency in the range of 0.1 to 0.5. There are other ways to create transparency nut I recommend this following link: http://www.anim8or.com/download/preview/art_raytracer.html

As for the render you can also render the alpha channel for .gif transparency.

I agree with falloffalot: does have that cartoon look as if straight from an old comic with simple colouring. Also I like the Anim8or screenshot.

Hey wow man, that waterbox is clever. Good artists put Anim8or to good use I say. Looks good; stands out. Choice.

Oooh Aqua Doob seems sad. Clear Doob is ghost of his formal self. Brilliant expressions for what Doob is. He should on the telly.

I think bone mirroring is a good idea too Water Music: any copying of a half for symmetry is a quick and useful tool And an option for it whether or not to automatically connect the points at the line of symmetry. I don't know if join solids does the same thing there but it certainly would be a good idea I think. However though and this is not a personal critique not everything has perfect symmetry. Your own face for example. Get a face on photo of yourself and mirror both sides of your face and compare them to your actual face and you will see three separate people who are all you. But I still agree, Good idea. I would use it.

Possibly Stinky, the cube-mapped sphere is not large enough and/or try reapplying the cubemap to the sphere as what I see reflected in the metals appears to be the ground grid which therefore seems to me that both the camera and metals are under the grid.

Who has more experience can make a great scene!

I wish! That's an excellent use of dielectric; never thought of using it for water. Got me thinking now...

I'm not too sure on how to pronounce your name Guilherme Amorim but I think it's fair to say in Anim8ion Land that odd is in and the norm is out.

Either colour can work, I think, the colours suggest age. Pink maybe innocent and curious yrs and the green a bit older, more active and keen for fun and mischief. Green to me seems like running through an open field. I'd go with that one. Or perhaps both versions in an anim8ion. Also, I just noticed, the green reflects better as the green contrasts better with the colours of the tiles.

Well ncl32 you certainly have made an imaginative character. I reckon most people here can't wait to see him in a series.

Electro is cool but I hadn't seen Bizarro on Smallville as I've hardly ever watched it but he sure looks different from the comic books. You certainly seem to have a history of Superheroes. Have you heard of Earth 3 or those heroes based on the Periodic Table(Lead, Gold, Silver, Tin, etc.)

I mix and match with Object and Scene mode. If I don't anim8 I still put object in scene mode to see what it looks like rendered.

Mainly I'm an abstract type person which basically means I have no real skills. Lately I've been focusing a lot on ART mirroring but for now I'm experimenting with subdivision modelling which is fun as it is a bit like starting with a ball of clay and manipulating and experimenting. I also take ready made objects like the torus and mobius scripts and use modifiers on them. As for anim8ing I haven't really done anything special but there is a link at the bottom of my post for them on youtube. My comp is slow at rendering so the clips are very short.
