Finished Works and Works in Progress / Ships Under Construction
« on: May 05, 2008, 06:14:04 pm »
Hello All,

I am new to this forum and I would like to share a small bit of a work in progress.

One of my hobbies is building model ships, and I have found Anim8or to be a great way to do this on my computer. The ability to insert, locate, scale and rotate a reference frame is a great asset in this type of modeling.

The pictures are of my under construction KM Bismarck.

Enjoy,

Sincerely,

Don Simon

General Anim8or Forum / Need Help On Placing Group Pivot Point
« on: May 03, 2008, 11:17:31 pm »
Hello All,

When I group meshes the group origin automatically shifts to the centroid of the meshes. Is there any way to constrain the group origin to be the same as the origin of a specific mesh? In other words, if I join Mesh1 and Mesh2, is there any way to force the group origin to be the same as the origin of Mesh1? I can partially overcome this by selecting the group, then selecting Origin, then selecting Move, but I can only use the mouse to move the origin, and grid snaps don't have any effect. There does not appear to be a keyboard entry for origin moves.

If I double click on the group and reset the origin, the entire mesh group changes position, so this doesn't work either. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Don Simon
