I don't think there will be much a problem with scripting, it looks simple enough for people to understand, and even if somebody finds it hard, I'm sure somebody will make example codes.

I think it's already uv mapped. I remember downloading one with textures and they went on without uv mapping.

then you should copy the master chief and add a different texture to each one you make

If you downloaded the model from a website, you can probably download the texture for the model from there.

Thanks Steve, I hadn't thought of making the camera invisible. Usually I don't change the visibility of the extra cameras unless they are in the way of other things in the scene. I guess it's good that I got this to your attention since it pointed out some other problems.

I've emailed the an8 file. I think the problem is that the camera is within the area the light is casting in.

I didn't think this fell under the problem of not disabling shadows because the version used is version .97b. If you mean i shoudl have searched for camera problems, then yes I shoudl have.

I rendered the first image with ART, the second with scanline(v.97b) and the third with scanline(v.95). all of these are with the same file.
The light isn't set to have shadows, but it seems like the camera can produce a shadow.

ASL Scripts / Re: cylinder acts wierd with plugins

I meant to say X axis. But, for some reason, the problem stopped. I can't seem to replicate it again. I can't think of what caused it. Thanks for the help anyway.

ok, I meant that it rotates intermittently (in front view) on the z axis, similar to right clicking with the rotate tool. the only problem is that it rotates while I'm placing the cylinder. It isn't my mouse because anim8or doesn't register the left mouse button being released. I know that because I'm still placing it at the same time it is rotating on the z axis.
If it's not the plugins causing this, then I will have to try something else.

ASL Scripts / cylinder acts wierd with plugins
« on: April 21, 2008, 07:47:30 pm »
I have a question: Is there any plugin that seems to interfere, when installed, with the cylinder primitive? It seems that whenever I activate the plugins, if i create a cylinder, it rotates while i'm making it(usually only when i make it go perfectly straight in any direction). I'm only asking because this problem only started when i activated the plugins. I haven't checked to see if it persists when I don't preload plugins.

That reminds me, I should really do one of those tutorials, I've never modelled a human body completely before, and now I have to make a few for an animation

thats a little too specific, its not something you're gonna find a tutorial for, you'll need to look for a tutorial for a human body.

the edge color is viewable when viewing in wireframe mode. wireframe mode is the mode that doesn't show any faces, just edges and points
