For some reason I hadn't realized that Anim8or could import .STL format.
Probably because it's a relatively new feature (since 1.0 was released I think).

Actually, there is no post-processing of the video, it is a straight capture from Celestia ... all I've added to the video is a watermark.
As you've recognized, although some of these effects are difficult to create in Celestia, there are ways to do so, and in this case WYSIWYG (everything you see is part of the addon), although it remains to be seen if I will publish all (or any) of these features ...

Perhaps "challenged" is too strong a word ... The comment was simply: "this dose not look like it was created in celestia:)

To be accepted for publishing on the Celestia MotherLode, Celestia Addons do have to work in all of the environments where Celestia runs. Is that the problem? Usually the fixes are straight forward but can be time consuming.
Selden,
Thanks for the advice.
That's not the problem as I haven't yet, and probably won't attempt to publish the addon on the Motherlode. I am pretty much aware of the differences between Windows and Linux, although that's not to say that it will definitely work under all environs ... that would be the aim however.
All I've published so far in fact is a preview video rather than the addon itself (which is still a work in progress).
I've since put up a second very short clip with Celestia's telemetry displayed, which in theory should satisfy the doubters. ;-)

Thanks Selden,
... although it's veracity as a Celestia addon has been challenged!
Considering that it has involved hundreds of hours of work so far (as you no doubt can appreciate), that is somewhat disappointing.

I'm working on an addon for Celestia, and as it involves quite a bit of assembly in Anim8or, I thought I should post a short video preview here.

In the future, when humanity has finally got around to colonizing the solar system, a diverse transportation system will enable travel between Earth and the Colonies. This may include large interplanetary cruise-ships like the "BC Coriolis" ...

See the video: HERE
