Anim8or v0.98 Discussion Forum / OnMessage() Request
« on: June 06, 2009, 01:07:54 pm »
Anim8or should use OnMessage() function (assuming its written in C++) to accept commands meaning “Move the selected object right on the y axis 50 units” or “Rotate the selected object 90 degrease around the x axis.”  These could be used by outside programs to better work with Anim8or.  Some examples of commands and their parameters that could be used would be:

Rotate
    Object (Selected?)
    Axis
    Degrease
Move
    Object (Selected?)
    Units
    Degrease
Arc Rotate
    Axis
    Degrease

Also, any other action that can’t be easily emulated by keyboard shortcuts.

Basicaly you convert the cube into a mesh.  Then look directly at a face and select it.  Now click on the UV tool and it should fix it.  Repeat for every face and they will all be the same.

Hmm....
AOI is an amazing rendering program.  It also models but I prefer modeling in anim8or.
Models in anim8or, textures, materials, rigging, animation and rendering in AOI :)
(btw AOI = art of illusion)

Hey
No offence but I don't think this will work.  You don't have any idea how long that took to make.  It says it took him a month to get the explosion right.  Plus it looked like he used a lot of other programs for visual effects and sound effects.
I know that the anim8or movie project has been working on the first scene (out of like 10-20 scenes) for 1 to 2 years now.  There still not done.
If you get some other members I will help out.
Want me to make you a forum for this?

Hey my suggestion to you is use the weight brush not bone influence.  It is much much easier to use and gives you more control.  I tried rigging whole human bodies down to multiple bones in the fingers and weights are much better.
If you can't find any good tutorials about weights I'll make one for you I guess.
