Anim8or brought 3d modeling to me when nothing else could. Literally. I had an OLD 500mhz CPU Gateway PC with Winbloze 98 when I started anim8ing.
In highschool I didn't have an internet connection at home, so I'd download what I wanted and take it home to use. Anim8or was the only program I could teach myself of the many I tried. And the only one that'd run reasonably smoothly. I started making things to post on Turbosquid and even landed my first job modeling with Anim8or. I failed miserably, but Anim8or never left my mind. Even now, when I've learned Blender a little, and Anim8or seems so behind the times, I still find myself signing up to this board today to check out what's been happening.
I ended up using Anim8or to do a short video for my senior project of a breakdancing skeleton.
Steve's little program did what nothing else could do. Teach a completely ignorant kid 3d modeling, AND stick in his mind through adulthood.
Thanks to everyone who made that possible.
