Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had a copy of terranim8or they could share with me as the site to download it from does not appear to be online any more. I know Terranim8or may be slightly old now but I wanted to have another look at it and experiment a little. I had a copy but not sure I have it any more.

Cheers
Jonny

Sorry it been a while since I posted but been busy planning the live action shots which should start shooting within the next month or two.

In reply to TheBlackHole, we are in no rush for the opening sequence as we expect the project to come togther over the next 1 to 2 years as it is a fairly large project. If you are still happy to create this sequence for us it would be great. I have looked into Celestia and it is still an option however I posted the idea here as I have always been very fond of Anim8or and wanted to include it in my works.

And Arik you are right you would think that. The statement about animations was not only for animations created by us but we were happy to host other people's animated movies on our site as a way to get their work viewed by as many people as possible. We currently have no plans for an animation made by us as we are only a hobby/amateur film making group but we have left all options open for the future.

Thanks everyone for posting and I hope to hear from you all again soon.

The models are looking good.

I especially like the smoothness of the assault ship. I think that if you add some textures like general wear and tear marks slight discolouration around the engines it will give more depth to your models. Maybe add some reflectiveness to the models as well will certainly add character to them.

I really like them. The overall designs of each and the colours used. I can imagine scenes in either games or films in which they can be placed.

The very first frame of this sequence will be a tiny white dot in the centre of the screen to represent the mily way which gradually gets bigger until we see something like the picture below.  It keeps flying through space until we reach earth.

Okay cool, thanks Maximilianibus. There was also another part of our first project which needs to be done. Our opening scene is where the camera starts of looking at the Milky Way from a distance with the milky way being just a small white speck in the middle of the screen.

The camera then slowly flies forward into the milky way, past the sun and finally to earth where it keeps flying to the surface of earth where upon the frame is filled is blurred with a white and blueish haze and this will cross fade to the next scene.

Any ideas on how I could do this or does anyone think that maybe able to make something like this.

Cheers
Jonny

Greetings,

Thanks Kyle for taking the time to do that, it looks really good. I think I would like something like this incorperated into the final design.

In reply to 3D Joe and Maximilianibus, I have an idea of a new animated logo now. Would it be possible to have stars with a glowing trail fly onto the screen from all directions but as they reach the center they are actually shimmering shards of glass which then form into lettering like in the picture above. Which then get zapped by lighting or something or a special effect happens and turns the letters from silver to gold.

Let me know your thougts on this.

Thanks for replying.

I kinda like how the current one works however I feel it needs something new and interesting added to it.  We plan to make several films over the next few years based at several different audiences so it needs to be something that is suitable for all age groups and genre preferences.

Our first production is a mystical, fantasy themed storyline so we do have an idea we would like for it. We would like it to start of with the logo appearing somehow and stay on screen for a few seconds and the disappear as a wisp of smoke.

Generally speaking though we are open to any and all suggestions anyone has to make for a new logo.

What kind of thing do you have in mind Maximilianibus?

Hi all,

I am posting to ask a couple of questions. A group of friends and myself have set up an amateur, non- profit, hobby film making group. We intend to do live action films and animations (in the future) and release them on the net via our website and other selected websites. Our own web address is www.goldlinepictures.com

At the moment we do have an animated logo to go before our films but it is not the best. It is a very low poly mesh and I think it could do with updating. I made the model myself a few years ago when I started using Anim8or but I am not the animation type, I am more of a writer/director.

I was wondering if anyone could help me by designing a new animated logo for me. You will of course get all credit for making the new version and you will be included in the credits of all productions we do.

Our old logo is on youtube here is the link to it

Thanks for reading this.

Thanks for the sugesstion glorfon, I will take a look into that. It looks like an interesting piece of software. I will try to come up with a solution using both anim8or and Wax.

Hi all,

I am trying to make a space scene where the camera flies towards the sun which is in the centre of the frame. When the camera reaches the sun it flies right through it and comes out the other side at which point a planet comes into view.

The reason I am posting this is because I was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to create this kind of scene. I have included some details below of how I would like things to look.

I would like the surface of the sun to ripple and move and perhaps have solar flares coming from the surface. I would like this rippling effect to continue as you pass through the sun. It would also be great if the planet could rotate and have clouds that are moving through the atmosphere as well.

Any tips on how I could create a scene like this would be great.

Cheers

Hi All,

A big thanks to Spicy and Wolf for all the work they are putting into the project. And also just a quick note to everyone who reads this. Goldline Pictures is also assisting and has partnered with Anim8or Studios to bring you a feature length animated film using Anim8or.

Thanks
Jonny
