oh wow I forgot about this post. thanks for the replies and I hope it helps whoever might have this problem too.  Ive randomly added some 3d artists on skype looking for anyone live to talk to about my problems... and got advice saying to torrent some professional tutorials instead of just looking for free ones on youtube or google like I had in the past. Ive got maya and some good tutorials from digital tutors and things are going well so far.

I just cant do anim8or without having a good set of tutorials.. or anyone to IM constantly for help lol

thanks ENSONIQ5 for actually downloading that file and looking at it.. I really didnt expect any replies to this post. I dont mean to put down anim8or in any way I just dont have the patience and resources to learn it right now. good luck to anyone that was in my situation xD

hello I quit doing 3d after for a month or more ever since anim8or decided to not open my last project.. I get an "error in reading file" message.  anybody know why? is there a limit on how big the file can be or something? cuz I remember it did lag a bit at times.. well heres the file for you to download if you want to try to open it.  I might just throw in the towel and start learning maya. have already tried 3d max but the tutorials suck.  HOW THE HECK AM I SUPPOSED TO LEARN ANYTHING AT THIS RATE :(

ah! no dont give me credit for learning that fast.. I mean I downloaded the newest version yesterday, the preview. I had the original anim8or and have been learning it for a month ;) not as quick as learning in 2 days but I really feel like Im finally getting myself to push through! :D

yeah, I was looking around on how to get reflections for water and thats when I came across some vids on youtube of people using the preview.

hey thanks simon, I didnt think of that at all. thats gonna be fun to try out.  btw Ive seen some of your work and its really good.. think my fav so far

2nd scene of my own ever!
I only downloaded the anim8or preview yesterday and finally figured out how to do reflections after a few tries.  was kind of frustrating. but its cool.. even though it looks more like a mirror than water

add me and stuff, I need friends

I do, I had to go over some tutorials for examples.... but when I apply the sequence to the figure in the scene.. it seems to take the effect of the pose I made but VERY simplified.. for example: I twisted his waist and bent his arms and other things(he is going to be standing and rowing with a paddle)... but when I apply it, it shows the pose with only small differences from the actual pose I want... man I suck at explaining it.  it just feels messed up... need someone to go on cam to show maybe >_<

ALSO.. when I close the program and open it up again.. I check my pose in sequence mode and its drastically changed.. its like anim8tor just wants to keep him stiff

Ive already had to re pose him 3 times.. I came back and he is in his standing position again.

Ive made this bear and Im not too concerned with making him a moving animation.. all I want to do is have a pose sequence for taking photos with.  but everytime I get the pose just how I want in sequence mode, I load it into the scene and its nothing like what I just made.  it's reacting as if my pose is too complex.  I have a screenshot to show the degrees I have for my joints(if thats the problem)  please give me a clue.. Ill be patient for a little while longer just cuz he turned out to be prettyful colored :)

here is a download for the an8 project

thanks for the feedback :) yep need more practice.. right now concentrating on scenes since I dont even know how to texture the ground yet x3 pretty much trying to learn the basics of everything overall before I get too focused on the realism of my models.. that way I can just start making videos that are more than just a few seconds long :D
