General Anim8or Forum / Do textures not update automatically?
« on: November 02, 2018, 02:33:02 am »
So I just recently started using anim8or again after some years and I'm starting to miss a feature that Ive been taking for granted in other 3d programs. As I'm working on a texture in photoshop, after I save it I usually see the texture updated right away (works great when texturing with a dual screen setup). But when I work on a texture Anim8or doesn't update until I click on the Material, click T on Diffuse for Textures, then click the {…} button, click the texture image, then the load button. That's a lot of clicks!

Is there a way to have the textures update automatically once the image has been edited and saved?

I was excited to try Anim8or V1.0 to make something simple. I already have the rig done. Gonna start working on animations later on. I find that this program is great for low-poly stuff (sub 1000tris). This would be a prototype for an enemy in a game I might make. Model uses a single 512 Texture, (probably should have used 256 but my texture skills kinda suck).

General Anim8or Forum / Its been a loooong time...

It's been so long since I've stopped by these forums. I just want to thank the anim8or community for helping me and inspiring me to get into 3d modeling. I can't believe I started with this program, and I was happy to see a full 0.98 version out. I moved on to 3ds max but I will always every once in a while, open anim8or and start doing things. This program is and has always been, the BEST inroduction to 3d modeling.

Very nice face rig! He reminds me of Squall from FFVIII. One question though, do you adjust the smooth angle for the hair?

General Anim8or Forum / Re: How do I learn Blender?
« on: November 07, 2011, 04:33:19 pm »
I have the same story here. I've had blender for a while now but the UI is ridiculous. I've also had 3ds max for about a year and every once in a while I open it up and figure things out. The biggest problem about blender that I hate is to get your texture maps to display in realtime in the viewport. I mean, in 3ds max I figured it out with no help at all, yet in blender its so frustrating!

Im also trying to learn blender but only for the rigging and toon render options it offers. Take it from me, your better off learning 3ds max (or maya?) because in my experience it has been easier for me to learn than blender.

You could also select that one face that you want to texture and remap it or scale it larger in uv classic. Yeah you can use the middle button in anim8or ( i use to texture like that all the time) but for more precision on the texture i would just remap only the polys that you want the image to be on.

Im working on the tutorial now because i don't see any tutorials for uv mapper classic with anim8or. So hopefully it will be up in a couple of days.

Believe it or not, I textured this character using only uv mapper classic and a regular paint program. If you want a tutorial on uv mapping, I was thinking of making a video on my youtube channel on how to unwrap with uvmapper classic.

One of my favorite video game characters was killed off recently in the story of The King of Fighters XIII. So I decided to make a model and render an image of this cool character...

Yeah I usually rush when I skin my models and I make errors sometimes like that arm. I consider myself a 3d modeler rather than an animator. Oh and I downloaded gimp but the application never wants to open. It starts to load but never finishes. Im running on windows 7 so can anyone help?

Well the models are gonna be around 2000-3500 polys. I checked out turbosquid and there is absolutely no one selling anim8or models.

I've been thinking about making some naruto models and selling them but I don't know where to start. If any of you sell your models then maybe you could help me out. I want to sell the models low poly, textured, and in an8, obj, and 3ds formats. So...

What is the best (most trusted) website to sell these models?
How much should I charge per model? ( i was thinking low price, like $5.00 per model or something)

I'm not trying to advertise in any way, I just want these questions answered thats all.

Here is an original character that I made. I didn't really use textures because I don't have photoshop anymore, so a lot of the details are modeled. Feedback is appreciated!
