General Anim8or Forum / Improving Render Times

Hey there, folks. Anim8or runs just fine on this computer, but the render times are killer if I want extensive shadows, ambient occlusion, etc. I've only got a gig of RAM (running XP), would upgrading the RAM speed up the render process in any significant way?

I've built some models that I want to put into a 2D short I'm working on. Is there a way to make 100% flat, solid colors, with no shading? I've tried playing around with the emissive and ambient settings, and I can't really get what I'm after. Anybody got any suggestions?
