General Anim8or Forum / Holes in meshes
« on: April 17, 2009, 03:35:14 pm »
I'm back, this time with another problem related to modelling addon spacecrafts for Orbiter spaceflight simulator.  :)

Currently, I'm making a space station. More specifically, the inside of one, which has been a challenge.

At the moment, I have to cut a circular hole (more accurately, a 24-sided hole  :P) in a square face, of a cube.
Are there any ways of doing this?

My apologies.

This is a very helpful technique. I will definately use it.

Thanks.  :)

Thanks for the quick reply.

Do you mean I bevel each face individually?

I don't think this would be a good idea since each face will end up unique/uneven.
Unless there is some other method for bevelling that I don't know about?

Hello everyone.

I use anim8or primarily to make addons for a freeware space flight simulator called Orbiter.

I must say I'm very impressed with what I've been able to do with it, and I have found that it is a very capable tool.

However, I have come across a rather problematic limitation.
The number of divisions in a lathe.

It seems I can only have 32 divisions. This is a serious problem as I am modifying an original model which has 64 divisions- the two not matching would not look good.

Is there any way to get around this?
