Used to use anim8or in 2008, I was like 11-12 years old (Despite the 73 and autistic-coded antisocial behavior in my handle, i'm currently 29 y.o. probably somewhere on the spectrum though)

I'm surprised this is all still around, and surprised that I could remember my login even. Love that the formatting feels exactly the same though. Just popping in to say "WOW" and thank Steve for developing anim8or. Also to apologize for being a cringey sweaty kid acting indignant about not having IK yet (I think I made a petition or something, it didn't come from an angry place really, I just didn't know forum etiquette or how intensive programming actually was yet) idk why but it felt like that was the barrier, and not the million other real internal hangups keeping me from improving.

Between '08 and '10 I tried transitioning to blender, but the UI scared me off as a kid, and my PC was garbage so I couldn't really run it. Eventually fell off working on 3d stuff altogether and just kind of kept my head down at work for almost 2 decades, effectively giving up on art as an occupation from 18 and up. I recently (this past Oct) picked up 3d modeling again, this time with a strong enough PC and attention span to learn blender, think I'm starting to get it now-- but without anim8or the idea that 3d modeling was something I could actually do wouldn't have been on my radar. Nor would the baseline knowledge I got from my brief use of it, and I just wanted to say thank you for that, if you're still active. Amazing that it worked on my ancient potato PC even by 08 standards, I think I was running bare-minimum specs on a hand-me-down, windows 98 OS and all that.

....wow...i've seen alot of that "bonus software" already out. i think one of them is either dog waffle or toon boom.someone should do something about that. You can't make money off of someone elses brilliant software, thats just not right.

i like morph sliders.they make things more realistic and there is more instances of not moving to the predetermined morph. what i'm attempting to say is that it would be alot easier to give the object more fluidity, when you view the morph changing in real time.

you all probably know already, but to make an illusion of something being flat, set the diffuse to 0 and the ambiance to 1.to make simple mouths, like in veggie tales, make a rectangle with a texture with everything set to 0,and modify the points through morph targets to make simple phonemes.more so,vowel phonemes, and maybe m.

What I would do is with every key frame, keep the camera at the same spot and angle Mathematically,E.G point in between each eye=5,0,5/6,0,6 and the angle of the head by guess. and move the camera from each point in the same direction of points.(Point x5,y0,z5-x6.y0,z6/Camera Position x5,y0,z5-x6,y0,z6)...its been a while since I've actually used anim8or so,sorry if my method doesn't work.

how i would make buttons,intrude,texture,extrude

i layered the hair thrice with a transmap, different mapping and such, may layer it up a bit more.for thickness.print screen doesnt really work for me so i had to set the smooth angles to 0,yes,i do plan to anim8 him eventually after some work and it might be a while for that, because im gonna try and make something worth it.sry for the bad spelling i was just on myspace (if i made a noticable amount of mistakes).my pc runs on 128 mb of RAM so even scanline isnt real time...i need an update BAD!
