« on: January 18, 2009, 08:03:29 am »
i'm trying to make spiked hair pointing backwards but i can't figure out how to do it. i can make the spikes pretty easily, but i've tried the bend, curve, and skew modifiers and they don't do what i need. any ideas?

i'm already redoing it all like that, and its working fine so far. its a bit more work, because i have to put in the coordinates and dimensions of every building, but this way i can set the heights instead of just guessing. thanks for your help, i've got it figured out now.

i just figured out what's wrong. each one of the squares that i pulled up had its own sides and those were being subdivided. do u know how to get rid of all of the inside sides without having to delete all of them individually, cos i just tried that and it would take way too long, lol.

here's how i made it, if it will help. I started with a big flat square. i selected the edges and stretched them out a bit. to make the buildings, i selected the areas on the ground and pulled them up. the dl is attached.

i made a small model of a city i'm going to use in a game and i'm trying to curve the edges to make the buildings look futuristic. i have it set to 0. Every time i try to do it, it treats each z and y division like an edge and i end up with a lot of blunt spikes.  pictures are attached.
