"I think you are a bit out of date here..."

I'm using 0.97d. My point was v0.95c is the latest stable version on the download page.

2 yrs since v0.97d preview, 3 1/2 yrs since "latest version" v0.95c is more than 'very busy' so yeah it seems development has actually ceased.

Still, i appreciate the work he's done so far!

Anim8or v0.98 Discussion Forum / Has development ceased?
« on: March 04, 2010, 12:34:52 pm »
I drop by the site every few months wondering if there will be a new version but it appears as if Anim8or has progressed very little in the past few years.

That's not a criticism just an observation. I like using Anim8or and want to continue to use it, IF it will be developed further.
Has development ceased? If so have you considered going open source to get another few developers to assist?

**Genuinely interested in the future of the program**

Thanks for the comments lads.

@Tanzim: I also suck at rounded parts; it took a lot of tweaking to get the heli to that level and there's still more to be done. i'd be ashamed to show the wire.
No offence taken, now that you mention it I agree.

@startrekfan001: thanks. i'll try but I haven't figured out rendering yet.
And no, it's a nickname based on my real name. Nice to meet you Enzo :)

That looks very good. I like it, the wheels and all. Very good modelling there, glad you are going to texture it

thanks spicy, it's certainly look a lot better with good textures.

bet it took a while to make all those little detail bits!

the guards around the lights etc are the hardest & are time consuming, the rest is easy enough.

I hope to work on it again ... I still need to do the suspension, new wheels, more accessories, straps for all the accessories, and a lot of work on the top of the vehicle including machine guns etc.
If I get it finished i'll definitely texture it.

One more for tonight, another model I started ages ago but never finished. there's no suspension and the wheels are temporary, the belong to another vehicle I did so no need to comment on them.  all other comments welcomed.

nice job but the hull profile could do with a little more attention. here's a good example:

Thanks hihosilver, but if the plane needs to turn/roll frequently how can I best maintain smoothness and keep the plane "on track" if u know what i mean,

Thx for the response machineman9,
For the model i hope to:
- add ailerons/rudder/elevators as you mentioned
- fix the cockpit
- improve the texture then i'll probably leave it.

For the animation I need to figure out an easier way to align the plane to the path.  I made the frame rate small cos it was just a test but future animations should be better.

Here's a model I am working on; it's my first real effort at an airplane, an Edge 540.  I've a few things to fix on this but i'm not aiming for perfection. Texturing is ongoing so it's not complete yet (ignore the grey bit at the front)...

http://www.flickr.com/photos/macasimages/2234923389/

also working on a Extra 300L.  Both planes will be part of a "red bull air race test animation".

Here was my first effort at animation, quality is very poor overall but i'm learning so get off my back!! ;)
