Title: Skateboard
Post by: indy1333 on July 10, 2008, 12:17:15 am
This is a skateboard I modeled for an art contest a few months ago. It took me about three hours from start to finish. I couldn't get the curve on the ends as smooth as I wanted, but it turned out pretty good for a quick project.

I didn't win.

But let me know what ya'll think, and any tips on modeling objects like this would be awesome.

The pretty good, mainly the wheels, although a skateboard isn't a very complex object, my only 2 crits are that the metal's specular value is too high and the top should be black (grip).

Not to bad, ok pretty awesume. I like the metal bit (i forget...), but i agree with Tanzim. This is good for a few hours work. But, the wheels need work

Pretty good for 3 hours of work.
Now that you have more time you can add more detail to the wheels.
Modeling the ball bearings as separate objects and placing them in the hubs should be easy enough.

It needs bolts to connect the trucks to the board.

I'm assuming the board is a subdivide. If you double click on it you can experiment with the divisions setting to round it off more.
