I am wondering is there a way to project slightly transparent shadows a certain colour by the object.
Is there button or something to stop shadows on slightly transparent objects ???

there is a option to change the color of the the shadow, if that's what you want, you must go into materail editor, and i think it was ambient, you have to change the color for that to the color you want the shadow to be, then just change anything else to whatever, then apply the material to your model.

thehalflifedude: I don't think he's talking about the darkness of the shading for materials. I believe he means the actual shadows for an object.
Orange Pickle: As of now, there is no raytracing with the shadows. Hopefully that will come in an update. The only way I can think of for now is to do compositing. That means, anything transparent would have to be a different object. You then place the objects where they'd normally go. You can then have everything cast/receive 100% dark shadows except anything transparent. Then, you can do another render where only the transparent object casts shadows, and you can change the darkness to suit your needs. You can then use something like Gimp or Photoshop and composite the two renders so that you end up with both shadows.

Thanks,
that would be a good thing for anim8or to have coloured shadows depending on the colour of the object.

They could add that feature to the next version if possible.

By "they" you must be referring to Steve Granville, since he's the only "they" working on the Anim8or program.

I think he is also referring to Winchester and Colby, respectively analyst
and quality control supervisor.I wonder if they are still involved in the Anim8or
project.
They are more the behind the scene type of guy, explaining why we didn't
have news from them in a long time.

Aha! I was under the impression Anim8or was strictly a one-man show! Thanks for the insight, Claude, though I doubt Orange Pickle was aware of that.

I did know anim8or was built by Steve.
mostly when ask to put a feature in it is normally a company, just a habit.
