Title: Editing text splines
Post by: Nightwing on May 20, 2008, 06:56:23 am
Hi all!

I'm new to Anim8or, but I have looked in the manual and searched this forum and the internet for a solution to my problem.

I need to make a letter, convert it to a spline and then edit it (adding/removing points). This I can do, but it seems that I cannot edit all of it. For example in an "O", I can edit the outher spline but not the inner. I can move the points around in the inner, but I cannot delete points. The splines seems to be related in some way, but is it possible to convert textsplines into "simple, independent" splines?

When I've done editing the text, I want to lathe it, and that's why I need splines. Otherwise I guess I could convert it to a mesh.

Thanks in advance,
Nightwing

Try to ungroup them.

Try to ungroup them.

I've tried that! I need to ungroup anyway when making the text into splines before being able to edit them.

I tested by >One text< ->Build Extrude -> Convert to Mesh -> Ungroup there was no problems to edit or delete points.

Yes, but the problem is (as I wrote in the original post) that I want to lathe it ... and you can only do that with splines.
