Title: Request: Astronaut Model.
Post by: Thanos on January 05, 2008, 11:20:06 am
I hope that someone has got an astronaut model, since I'm not good at anim8ing organic things.

If nobody steps forward to do this for you (in truth it is rare that people make full models for others though not unheard of), it could prove to be a very useful learning exercise for you.

My advice would be to break the model down into its base components....a sphere for the helmet, cylinders for arms and legs, a box for the main body and another box for the oxygen pack.

Once you have that in place you can work on individual parts adding detail as you go, don't try to do the whole thing at once, maybe focus on getting the visor just right...that could be as simple as making a sphere, turning it and deleting some unneeded points etc etc etc

Before you know it, you'll have learned loads and will have a fantastic model that you can be truly proud of ;)

Good luck

As Bravo suggests you could do it  yourself....cheat a little with Makehuman and make just the spacesuit ...or u could go to Celestias Motherlode and try and see if there`s an astronaut there...
http://www.celestiamotherlode.net/  Loads of spacey things models, planets real & fictional! but I don`t know about astronauts.
